Rapper Lil Reese was arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of sexual assault and rape. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) reportedly responded to a call from an L.A. hotel lobby at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The victim reported that Reese, “forced himself on her and raped her,” according to a report from TMZ.
Law enforcement officials arrested Lil Reese – born Tavares Taylor – and placed him in custody. He was taken to jail and later released on $100,000 bond.
TMZ reported that Lil Reese went on a date with the alleged victim. Following dinner, Reese and the woman went to a downtown Los Angeles hotel where the rapper was staying. Reese subsequently “insisted they have sex,” TMZ said.
LAPD officials told TMZ that the woman rebuffed Reese’s sexual advances. He proceeded to allegedly force himself on her. The woman reported the incident immediately to hotel staff and called police shortly thereafter.
Reese issued a denial of the allegations shortly after posting bond, noting on social media that he was “unbothered like an MF.”
Rapper Boosie Badazz reportedly witnessed the arrest of Lil Reese.
“They just took him to jail,” Boosie said on social media as Reese was led away in handcuffs.
Lil Reese was arrested in Harris County, Texas in 2022 for aggrevated assault, allegedly against a family member. The 2022 arrest came approximately one year after Reese was arrested for allegedly physically assaulting his then-girlfriend.
The police report included allegations that Reese had “pulled her hair and punched her in the face, causing an abrasion that was visible to the responding officers.”
